Bangkok Part I
I arrived in Bangkok just one hour late ;)! After that I tried to make my way to the hostel, but I ended up in front of a Thai house. Stupid google maps tricked me again, you really can’t trust the map-system for Thailand! So I had to search for wifi and ended up having breakfast in a way to expensive Starbucks :/. But at least I found out the right way to the hostel and successfully managed to arrive there… It turned out to be more like a homestay, right in the middle of a Thai neighbourhood. But the owner, joy (U-Baan hostel), was really friendly and chilled out. Usually I wanted to meet Clarissa and Fabian, but they were to stupid to find the right way ( ;D). So I went out to the local food district and Chinatown! The food district was interesting, everything was way cheaper, because we’ve been the only white persons in this area and its usually only for Thais. So we could try many local things here, seeing chicken getting killed right in front of the customers, rats running around the little food-stalls, and loads of good Thai food!
5-6 hours after Fabian and Clarissa landed, they arrived and we went out for a nice dinner, followed by a visit in the legendary skybar! First time I put on normal shoes, shirt and long pants :O.
But it was the bar being shown in hangover 2, and the view was just amazing! It was even more spectacular because it was open air, so you could stand right next to a big descent and have a really nice view over dark Bangkok! Unfortunately the phone-pictures aren’t that good, but wait for the camera ones!
The next day we had again a nice food session, little shopping trip and in the evening a quick sightseeing tour! I decided to go to chiang mai instead of spending my last days in Bangkok, but a feeling said me its better to see at least a little bit rainforest and to ride (hopefully) an elephant :)!
And Bangkok was basically often the same, so I guess one more day will be enough to see everything! Not
Enough time!
