Kuala Lumpur | Day 1
As I arrived yesterday, I managed to buy my ticket from Sentral Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Lumpur on a Malay ticket-counter! By the way, I’m really lucky to travel with an iPhone, so I could download a map of kuala before and get my position pointed out on the map (really useful!).
The hostel, submarine, is really nice! Near Chinatown and only 7AUS$ for a six bed dorm per night. I even got breakfast after my long bustrip! As I had to wait for the check in, I met a Brazilian and two Spanish guys.. We decided soon to go to the central market, which was completely different to the usual markets here. In the inside is the „Malay“ part of the market, where no one yells their offers at you or drags you in their shop! The opposite to that is the typical Chinatown. This time it was a ‚real‘ Chinatown, not like the one in Singapore! But you had to be really careful, seems like everyone wanted your money… And if you stopped for just a second, a guy came and dragged you into his shop to sell you „original brands“ :D! Definitely nice there to get fake tshirts & so on, but I have enough to carry around for now :p
Back in the hostel I had a short nap and we continued our trip to kuala lumpurs biggest shopping-mall, which was really really big‘ unbelievable that this is near the place where we stayed! On the streets were only lamborghinis and ferraris, the mall was packed with expensive shops… But it was still nice to have a look on it 🙂 and they had a proper pharmacy, new desinfectant for my foot, yeaaah 🙂
After that we decided to leave the tourist trail and went into one side streets to reach a ‚chinese-food street‘. It was full with Chinese restaurants and little shops… I missed buying the „stinking-fruit“, described by the Brazilian as ’smelling like old pussy mixed with gas‘. Sounds … Interesting 😀
But we decided to try frog, the owner even showed us the poor frog before :(. But I must say it was so tasty! Like a mix of chicken and fish, close to crocodile, but more intense! So yummy! After that we grabbed one of these fruits that everyone uses as refreshment-drink, I forgot the name, but I’ll write it down as soon as possible! It was definitely a really good day, even if I just fell into my bed and passed out for 10 hours :D!
Today bath caves and the twin towers! (They looked amazing at night!)
